Audience: Ages 10-14
Like Between Two Worlds is a multimedia resource that shares the story of Sandra, a woman from El Salvador whose life and education was affected by the country’s civil war. She has since made Cambridge, MA, USA her new home, and devoted her life and career to developing a city-wide program for recently arrived immigrant teens, and teaching and inspiring them to make their own way in a new country.
This resource provides an overview of the conflict itself, while highlighting the lived experience and difficult decisions that many who flee conflict, such as Sandra, face during protracted violence in order to survive and create better lives for themselves and their families. Viewers are encouraged to view the website and experience the narrative through various frames of multimedia.
